Molao fuses semantic, keyword and exact-citation search, then ranks by relevance and legal authority.

The percentage on a result is semantic similarity, not the ranking score. Ranking also weighs legal authority, so an apex judgment can outrank a closer-worded one.

Every AI answer is grounded: it cites the judgments, legislation and rules it relies on, so you can trace each conclusion back to its source.

Each answer carries a High, Medium or Low confidence badge. It reflects how well the corpus supports the answer — not a guarantee that the answer is correct.

An answer separates the substantive law, the procedural pathway, the judicial interpretation and any persuasive foreign authority, so you can see each layer distinctly.

The citator shows how later courts have treated a judgment. A red signal means it has been overruled or not followed — verify before you rely on it.

When the corpus lacks solid authority for a question, Molao says so instead of inventing a case. That refusal is a safeguard, not a fault.

Molao covers South Africa and Botswana. A guard detects foreign-law questions and declines them, then surfaces genuinely persuasive foreign authority where local courts have used it.

Molao holds most of Botswana's published case law and a demand-ranked subset of South Africa's — the judgments other judgments actually cite. Here is the honest picture.

Molao shows the exact text only for statute sections it has verified. For everything else it links to the official source, because it will not display wording it cannot vouch for.

An AI research question is one query that returns an AI answer. Browsing judgment results does not use a research question.

A judge persona is derived strictly from that judge's own authored judgments — their reasoning style, what persuades them and what irritates them.

Each judgment carries an at-a-glance banner showing who won, the disposition and the costs order — plus sentencing and bail detail in criminal matters.

Enter a trigger date and a number of days, pick a reckoning method, and Molao computes the deadline against the correct public-holiday calendar.

Court days exclude weekends and public holidays. Interpretation Act calendar days count every day but extend past a Sunday or public holiday — not a Saturday. Getting this wrong changes the deadline.

The 16 December to 15 January recess is excluded only for specific steps under specific rules. Do not apply it by default.
