Switching between South Africa and Botswana
A jurisdiction toggle controls which body of law Molao searches. Your choice is remembered across the app.
Because Molao covers two jurisdictions, most research surfaces carry a South Africa / Botswana toggle. It controls which judgments, rules and holidays are used.
Where the toggle appears
- Legal research — sets which corpus your search and AI answers draw from.
- Criminal & Sentencing — switches between the Criminal Procedure Act framework and the Botswana CPEA.
- Deadline Calculator — switches the public-holiday calendar used to count court days.
- In Chambers and Judges — filters to the judges of that jurisdiction.
Your selection is remembered, so once you set it you stay in that jurisdiction until you change it. You can switch at any time with a single click.
If a search returns no local authority, try the other jurisdiction before rephrasing — you may simply be in the wrong body of law.
